Carmelwell started with a small frustration, not a big idea.
Skincare for women over forty mostly gets sold two ways. Either it's expensive, wrapped in language about luminosity and renewal, and it talks to you like you've already bought in. Or it's cheap, and the corners get cut exactly where they matter — the form of the vitamin, how much of it is actually in there, whether it stings on skin that's got thinner.
We wanted the middle. Things that do what they say, at a price you can pay again in two months without thinking twice about it.
How we choose
Every product starts with the same question: what's the version of this that works on skin that's changing, and what's the version that just photographs well?
It's why the serum uses 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid instead of the L-Ascorbic Acid most vitamin C serums rely on. Traditional vitamin C is potent, and it's also why so many women give up on vitamin C altogether — it stings, it oxidises in the bottle, and on a thinning barrier it's genuinely uncomfortable. The stabilised form brightens without the burn and doesn't turn brown on your shelf.
It's why the night cream is built around melatonin. Most people know it as the sleep hormone; on skin it works as an antioxidant, and it's one most night creams skip in favour of heavier occlusives that just sit on the surface.
And it's why nothing carries added fragrance, why everything is made in the USA, and why you won't find parabens, phthalates or silicones on any label of ours.
No filler ingredients. Nothing there to make the list look longer than it is.
What we don't do
We don't put a percentage on a page unless we can tell you who measured it, on how many people, and for how long. Nobody has run that study on these formulas, so you won't find those numbers here.
What we can tell you is what's in the bottle, how long it lasts and what it costs. A 2 oz jar of the night cream is about six weeks at the suggested amount. A 1 fl oz bottle of the serum is about two months. Those are the kind of numbers we can stand behind.
Who it's for
We make Carmelwell for skin that's started changing. The tightness by mid-morning. Foundation settling into places it didn't used to. The "you look tired" from someone who genuinely means well.
Not a transformation. Not a reversal. Just skin that looks like it got some rest.
